“PLAN2CROSS” project to improve traffic status and accessibility of Békés and Arad counties
“Public road development without borders between Békés and Arad Counties, in two directions, so as to enhance the common economic competitiveness”
The common project of Multi-Purpose Partnership of Southern Békés Subregion and Council of Curtici Township was supported with 281.903 € under the Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013. The own source is 11.747 €, so the full budget of the project is 293.650 €.
The goal of the project is to improve traffic status and accessibility of the cross-border region. Under th project feasibility studies and study plans will be made. On hungarian side for the renewal of „dinnyés út (melon road)”on the following pathes: First version: state border – Dombegyház – Kunágota – Csanádapáca – Orosháza, 50 km long. Second version: state border – Dombegyház – Kevermes – Nagykamarás – Medgyesegyháza – Csanádapáca– Orosháza, 60 km long. On romanian side we plan road from railway passage to Kürtős. This road is a condition of a new border crossing point too.
In the project, partners organize events, develop webpages and they show the achievments and outputs of the project with promotional materials next to the feasibility studies and study plans.
Total cost of project part of Dél-Békési Kistérség Többcélú Társulása is 195.800 €, the awarded subsidy is 186.010 €. The Kistérség has to ensure 9.790 € own contribution next to the 95 % subsidy intensity. The project will close at the end of March 2013.
The project is implemented under the Hungary-Romania Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 (www.huro-cbc.eu, www.hungary-romania-cbc.eu), and is part-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Hungary and Romania.
